Senior Technical Writer/b>

Our client is a real Canadian start-up success story - they have one of the most progressive, hip and creative development teams in the city. Their ground-breaking mobile product offering has exploded in popularity this year and has won accolades from around the world.
In this role the successful applicant will be responsible for creating detailed yet concise user guides, FAQs, guides for apps on a variety of mobile devices, internet copy and scripts for online how-to-videos.
The successful individual consider themselves a ìtech-geekî they will need to be passionate about technology and mobile devices ñ coupled with the innate ability to take complex devices and create simple, user-friendly instructional documentation..
This is a new position with an up and coming mobile eCommerce company in downtown Toronto.
Responsibilities
ï Create a broad range of customer-facing copy, including user guides, Knowledge Base articles, interface copy, FAQs, web copy, and scripts for demo and how-to videos.
ï Work with UX team members and developers to craft easy-to-understand interface copy.
ï Bring a consistent, friendly voice to our documentation.
ï Develop and champion our standards to bring the highest quality of writing to our customers.
ï Act as a product expert and liaison by staying on top of product changes and communicating them to other teams.
ï Mentoring other members of our writing team.
ï Edit material produced by other team members and other groups ñ everything from blog posts to error messages. Ensure accuracy and consistency, and act as a user advocate.
ï Participate in customer care initiatives for major releases.
Qualifications
ï 4 ñ 10 years of related experience
ï Degree in professional writing, technical communications, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
Required Skills
ï Excellent writing and editing skills
ï Ability to adapt style, tone and complexity to suit a variety of audiences
ï Demonstrated history of producing clear, concise writing
ï Ability to maintain and follow established style guides and conventions
ï High standards for accuracy and detail
ï Confidence working with subject-matter experts and experimenting with new products
ï Positive, cooperative, and proactive team communication
ï Strong analytical, problem-solving, multitasking, and organizational skills
ï Proficiency with basic office applications (Acrobat, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
ï Flexibility and ability to work in a dynamic, constantly changing environment
ï Nice-to-have experience: HTML/SGML/other markup language, EPUB document creation, single-sourcing solutions, localization
