Assistant Book Editor (FabJob.com and IAPCollege.com)
compensation: $15 per hour
contract job part-time
We are seeking an assistant editor to begin working with us immediately. This is a flexible work-from-home position with a negotiable number of hours per week.
Reporting to the managing editor, you will work on a variety of projects, updating FabJob career guides which are also used as textbooks for the International Association of Professions Career College at http://www.iapcollege.com. Because our organization is lean, we need someone who is self-directed and will work quickly with minimal supervision. We're happy to hold hands for your first project, but after that you'll be expected to complete projects on your own.
We typically receive 200 or more applications for every position we advertise, but please don't let that discourage you if you have the qualities we are looking for. If you have a history of academic excellence (e.g. a Master's degree with an exceptional GPA), are highly intuitive (according to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator), and go the extra mile (i.e. your application letter shows you've found out more about our business than what's in this ad), you will already be ahead of 95% of applicants.
If we're a fit for you and you're a fit for us, you will join an organization that good workers want to keep working with (the first two people we hired 15 years ago are still with us and our best contractors typically return to work with us again and again). Plus, whenever possible, we reward our people with as many hours of work as they want plus a 15% pay raise within 3 months.
Because this is a work-at-home position, we accept applications from anywhere in the United States or Canada.
PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT APPLICATIONS THROUGH CRAIGSLIST (we've set up an email filter to weed out applications that don't follow submission instructions). Instead, please submit an application at http://www.FabJob.com/jobs.html.
- Principals only. Recruiters, please don't contact this job poster.
- do NOT contact us with unsolicited services or offers
