Requirements:
As a strong candidate to be positioned for this opportunity, you must have the following skill sets and experience:
1. Post secondary education in IT/Computer Science.
2. CCIE level expertise and knowledge is preferred, CCNA or CCNP certification is required.
3. Extensive knowledge and work experience with medium to large LAN/WAN/Metro network equipment.
4. Proficient with Cisco Networking technologies along with 3+ years hands on experience providing network support in a service provider environment.
5. 3+ years experience with the following platforms; Cisco IOS routing and switching, 3750, 45xx, 76xx, 12xx, and VPN technologies.
6. Experience in layer 2 and layer 3 switching and routing protocols (i.e. MPLS, OSPF, BGP/MP-BGP, DNS, Wireless).
7. Strong verbal and written communications skills.
8. Experience preparing trouble tickets and documenting actions within a ticketing system.
9. Experience with Unix/Linux/Windows server environments is a definite asset.
10. Experience with fiber optic network technologies and standards such as Sonet are definite assets.
