Peoplesoft General Ledger Developer:
This role provides solutions to business processes through the analysis of requirements, participation in design and programming of systems. As part of the Corporate Technology Solutions team, the PeopleSoft General Ledger developer will be charged with contributing analytical and development skills to all PeopleSoft support and projects throughout their various phases including project proposal, analysis, design, development, testing and implementation.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Support PeopleSoft Team Lead in developing business cases, Request for Proposals and service level agreements with vendors/suppliers where applicable.
Assist with leading project teams to design and develop quality solutions to meet project objectives and client requirements following technology architecture standards.
Assist with PeopleSoft General Ledger/Financial Reporting development projects through full project life cycle from assessment, requirements through to implementation and warranty. Focus on planning, tracking, analysis and design, development, testing, implementation support to PeopleSoft General Ledger/Financial Reporting systems and interfaces.
Assist with creating cost estimates for integrated projects.
Deliver effective solutions by managing key project milestones and overall project deliverables to be on time, within budget and adhering to development and quality standards.
Comply with the system development life cycle (SDLC) and project management life cycle (PMLC) methodologies by participating in scope assessment, risk and cost analysis.
Assist with the testing process and debug according to test plans, using available/appropriate tools and participate in reviewing peer coding. Review and analyze test results. Develop and document test strategies including System Test Plans and Production Acceptance Test Plans for new and modified systems based on technical and business specifications.
Facilitate appropriate knowledge transfer within the team and business units.
REQUIREMENTS:
Extensive technical knowledge of PeopleSoft GL version 8.8, SQR, SQL, PeopleCode, PeopleTools, including Query-Process Scheduler, Component Interface, Application Designer, Data Mover, Workflow, Self-Service Web-Enablement, creating PeopleSoft Security trees and writing test scripts.
Extensive working knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials business processes and automation
Proven project implementation experience in package software, and OLAP reporting tools.
Sound technical understanding of Infrastructure/network/platform/database and application architecture and design in connection to a business application.
Willingness to challenge the status-quo and develop and recommend viable alternative solutions.
Ability to act autonomously, to recommend, negotiate and improve processes. Strong listening and influencing skills to foster an open, innovative, responsive, and professional team environment.
Good knowledge of Project Server is an asset.
Strong analytical skills.
Finance background is an asset.
Ability to understand and acquire new technical skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project).
Excellent communication skills.
Excellent documentation skills.
