MS SQL Server DBA/Developer
Our client, a dynamic marketing company, is looking to add a Seasoned Database to their growing team.
Position Summary:
Our client realizes that this is a very diverse workload and is looking for the candidate with the closest match in skill set.
Database Administration – 60%
-Working with MS SQL Server 2000 and MS SQL Server 2005
-Various database administration duties ranging from moderate to high complexity in a production environment
-Main database duties include: creating tables, migrating data tables, administrating views, writing and maintaining stored procedures, writing queries, administrating permissions, data imports and exports, SQL Coding, error trapping, creating batches, mass data imports, create date stamps
-Interacting with internal/external stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into workable specifications
Development – 20%
-Our client is looking for a candidate that has some development experience. More importantly, they are looking for a candidate with a willingness to undertake development duties as a part of their role.
-Main development duties include:
-Basic ASP scripting and/or code reviews – ASP scripting to interface with Database
-Managing ASP pages
General IT Support – 15%
-Our client is looking for a candidate that has some experience providing General IT Support. More importantly, they are looking for a candidate with a willingness to undertake these General IT Support duties as part of their role.
-Basic server administration in a Microsoft environment (password reset, troubleshooting, settings and permissions)
-General Hardware and Software Support and Troubleshooting for non-it internal users
Change Management and Documentation – 5%
-Developing and documenting new processes and procedures
-Writing and maintaining technical documentation for system upgrades and enhancements
Work Experience and Technical Requirements:
-5 to 10 years experience as an IT professional
-Advanced Database Administration skills
-2-5 years experience working with MS SQL Server Databases, including: creating tables, migrating data tables, administrating views, writing and maintaining stored procedures, writing queries, administrating permissions, data imports and exports, SQL Coding, error trapping, creating batches, mass data imports, creating date stamps
-Understanding and/or experience of ASP and/or ASP.Net and/or PHP
-Previous coding/code maintenance experience is a definite asset
-Previous experience with administrating, supporting and troubleshooting Microsoft technologies, such as: MS Exchange and MS Active Directory
