Position Summary:
The successful candidate will define, build and coordinate usage of the application development and software configuration environments between the various application development teams and others within the IT department. They will meet with the IT team managers and development teams to discuss environment requirements and timelines to determine environment usage and priority. Develop and implement policies and procedures to streamline environment usage, code management and code promotions.
Responsibilities:
• Administer various Development, QA, UAT environments for software development per proper SDLC methodologies, develop all automated build and source control scripts as needed.
• Coordinate IT department usage of Development environments
• Develop, build and maintain environment usage schedules
• Facilitate and lead meetings to gain consensus on environment usage from the various IT department teams
• Report the status of environment usage activities to IT management
• Design and document environment usage policy, code management and code promotion policies.
• Research: tools and equipment used to coordinate IT environment usage
• Recommend solutions.
Qualifications:
• University degree or Community college diploma required
• 5 or more years Information Technology experience
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong teamwork, interpersonal skills and solid judgment
• Strong documentation and SDLC methodology skills (RUP, TDD etc.)
• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft, Microsoft .Net Framework, JAVA Platform, Exchange, SharePoint, MS Project.
• Previous working experience with Change and Release Management tools such as CVS, ANT, Visual Studio Team System and QuestStat, is a definite asset.
• Knowledge of multiple operating systems – AIX Unix, Linux, Windows. Also knowledge of scripting languages – PERL, Unix/Linux shell, etc.
• Strong technology skills required.
• Experience with ITIL framework, specifically, Release and Change Management.
• Experience with automated build processes.
• Able to handle multiple projects in a fast paced environment
• Team player and can work independently
