Job Description:
Working with wide range of internal and external contacts including directors, senior directors, vice presidents and a highly skilled team of technical and business experts. The Advisory Application Developer will be involved in planning, analysis, design, and implementation activities in a client server environment.
• Translate user requirements to process and data requirements. Design application's technical infrastructure, such as specific databases, programming languages, utilities, and testing approaches.
• Design and/or integrate solutions for the processing of data and development of precise steps and processing logic across all platforms.
• Provide broad understanding of platforms and applications across all technologies.
• Ensure the designed specifications achieve business needs.
This is an opportunity for the right candidate to utilize a variety of skills in the delivery of projects, mentoring team members in the use of selected technology, taking on technical lead roles on projects and participating in setting technology direction, development standards and processes for use in application development within RBT. In addition to sharing knowledge the candidate will also be positioned to learn new technologies, strengthen existing skills and acquire business knowledge.
Responsibilities
Using leading edge technologies the candidate will:
• Participate in standardization of design and software engineering practices & techniques. Recommend process and/or development improvements
• Design & Software Engineering support for RBT Development teams
• Investigation into strategic, tactical, and architectural directions for suite of applications in RBT portfolio.
• Plan, analyze and design in support of project initiatives
• Lead the SWAT Team to investigate and provide solutions for reported production problems
• Guide high level design / develop and implement system enhancements
• Estimating project work effort where new technology is involved and no guidelines exist.
• Acquire solid business knowledge in assigned application programs and information technologies.
• Remain current on leading edge technologies and how they can be applied to existing and future projects
• Coach / mentor junior staff.
• Participate in and/or conducting medium to high complexity evaluations for product releases and stand alone products
Qualifications
• Consulting--Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques, roles and responsibilities by providing technical or business guidance to clients within and outside own area.
• IT Environment--Knowledge of organization's total information technology (it) environment.
• Decision Making and Critical Thinking--Knowledge of tools and techniques for effective use of a broad range of factors, assumptions, frameworks and perspectives when solving problems.
• Application Design, Architecture--Knowledge of and experience with activities, tools and techniques for converting business requirements and logical models into a technical application design.
• Application Delivery Process--Knowledge of major tasks, deliverables, formal methodologies and disciplines for delivering new or enhancing applications
