All of our public services are open to privatization. The rules of GAT And WTO are summarized by
the Council of Canadians and if you consider yourself a Canadian and wish to ensure that
your children will have as good a standard of living as you have had, then read.
Oppose private health care wherever you are. The rules do not allow for the retracting of
private health care once rolled out. It is a ONE WAY STREET. Once the doors are opened
the ENTIRE system is subject to challenge and cannot be defended since the rules of GAT
and WTO supercede those of the 140 nations that agree to them. As written, if a country
retracts a commercial for profit service, that country is subject to astounding and crippling
fines. Your (our) sovereignty is at stake like never before.
The rules of the WTO and GAT are designed to be irreversible. There is no way to
'experiment' as Harper is suggesting he is doing in a few provinces by allowing for
the privatization of health care in direct violation of the Canada Health Act. This
is not even a matter of being asleep at the wheel, it is a matter of contempt and negligence
of elected duty.
