Hi there. I am a university student who is available to help care for your pets. I have experience working in a doggie daycare, and have been pet sitting and dog walking for the past 5 years. I specialize in cats but am also experienced with dogs, rabbits, and other small domestics. I have limited experience with birds or reptiles.
My experience includes:
-dealing with aggressive, possessive, nervous, excitable and territorial dogs-- big and small!
-For dogs, I have cared for diabetic and senior dogs who require special care. This of course includes staying on the dogs' insulin schedule. I also know how to pill/medicate dogs and do basic grooming (i.e. bathing and nail clipping or removing burrs) and understand and respond to their body language.
-For cats, I am experienced with newborn kittens, weaned kittens, healthy adults, sick or special needs cats, and feral and stray cats. I know how to give insulin, pills, liquid suspensions, and most other types of medications. I can nail trim and do basic grooming on cats and am familiar with common health problems in kitties, including ring worm and parasites, upper respiratory infections, eye infections, diabetes, FIV/FeLeuk, and the common viruses-- most of which I would assume would not be an issue for an owned cat ( I deal with rescues)! I have experience with siamese and persian/himalayan breeds and their special needs and also know how to syringe feed should that ever be necessary.
-For bunnies, I have had several and know and understand their special dietary needs (hay and veggies as an asset), and am familiar with identifying and treating gas and blockages. I have also dealt with eye problems, upper respiratory infections, and common issues such as sore hocks. I am used to shy or aggressive bunnies that think nipping is an every day affair or who need you to be sitting on the floor before they will approach you. I can nail trim most bunnies, even the ones that think you are torturing them!
I am available for pet sitting while you are away-- one or two visits per day. I am also available on certain days for just dog walking in the middle of the day or in the evening.
My prices range from $10 per visit/walk - $15 depending on where you are and how much work is involved. If you are a long travelling distance or have more than 3 pets OR have many needed services within one visit, the price will be $15 rather than $10.
