I've sank my money and time into a new act. It's a Piano vocalist who's hands move so fast they're a blur, has a voice that travels miles, and goes from slow and dreamy to fast and intense within seconds. I've taken time to test at some top jazz clubs in New York. he stops traffic at times, but can also be a tempermental pain in the !@#$! ...but he's a good guy!
Currently I have him playing at a downtown hotel 5-6 hours a day, exposed to hundreds from all walks of life, but yet able to experiment.
Some duties will be:
** Taking notes and observing people's reactions to the material and show
** Although people sitting next to him and some women taking pictures and kissing him is positive, someone to politely keep a distance between said act and audience!
** Music background is not mandatory, but ability to play, compose at a basic level, or a good ear is helpful, but not neccessary
** Help coordinate bookings and upcoming local TV spots
** Coordinating material and assisting in rehearsals
** Sitting in and taking notes making choices at auditions for his new band
** Light administrative and/or production assistance
This can be a very fast moving job, and I need someone who's open minded and can handle pressure and fast moving events, therfore this is the process for interviews:
1) Email with the subject header "ACT 23". Include your phone number, and two choices (Date and Time) that you can come in to interview (Anytime Monday to Thursday between 4PM and 8:30PM)
2) A BRIEF description of why you'd like to do this
3) You will only get ONE phone call to confirm your interview within 48 hours (if chosen)
4) To deter the wrong kind of applicant, the interview will be a 'Walking Interview' ---we will be talking as I walk around the building, as this represents the fast aspect of this
5) A chance to see the act and get a better idea of this
Please submit your request for an interview. This is only Part-Time, and around the range of Min.wage. While not promised, there will be an opportunity for Full Time in 2010.
