Holmes Creative Communications (HCC) is looking for three outstanding interns to assist with all aspects of public/media relations from January 4 to April 30, 2010.

About You
You are interested in gaining hands-on-experience in the exciting and ever-changing industry of Public Relations. You have a strong desire to work in a mid-sized agency environment where you will work closely with industry veterans on a range of exciting clients including Canada’s top television shows, musical acts and star-studded award shows. You are connected and up-to-date with new social media trends and networking tools and are full of ideas on how to leverage clients star power and generate media interest.
Responsibilities
• Researching editorial opportunities
• Story and angle development; media pitching
• Research, writing, and editing of media kits/materials including bios, news releases
• Interview coordination
• Media monitoring
• Staying up-to-date with new social media trends and attending relevant seminars
• Event assistance
Qualifications
• University/college education or equivalent experience in PR
• Passion for public relations and a desire to work in a mid-sized agency environment
• A strong understanding of and interest in social media (blogs, twitter, facebook, myspace, youtube etc.)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize while working on multiple accounts
