I am very active as a cellist, composer and improvisor, and am offering lessons based on my training and experience.

My taste and range of interests are very diverse. I play in several groups of a variety of styles, perform and compose for theatre, have toured Europe, played/ composed for several major festivals in Canada, and done studio work.

I have been playing cello for 22 years, and have learned through both the Suzuki and RCM method. I hold a Bachelor's degree in music composition from Wilfrid Laurier University (I had private cello lessons throughout) and am currently finishing my Master's at York University in composition.

I am particularly seeking students who are interested in cultivating a unique voice on the instrument and playing a variety of styles of music. My method involves work with ear training, technical exercises, exploration of unconventional techniques & sounds, and improvisation.

I am also open to guiding beginner to intermediate-level students of any age through more standard territory, while offering ear-training skills to be able use the cello for various musical purposes.

My rate is $20 per half-hour, $35 per hour. I would be happy to provide prospective students with an artistic CV.

I have openings on Mondays, Wednesday and weekends.

I am located near St. Clair West Subway, but can travel depending on your location (for an additional charge of $5).
