The successful candidate must have:
* a minimum of ten years experience in the Food and Beverage industry
* specific experience managing the Food and Beverage division of a boutique luxury hotel.
* experience in the concurrent management of fine dining operations, catering, multiple bar operations, as well as specialty food operations such as upscale gourmet diners.
* international experience working at luxury hotels
* experience working in a decentralized organization that emphasizes casual but outstanding and consistent service with a vibrant and contemporary style.
* experience in the opening of a new hotel
* proven leadership abilities and outstanding employee relations
* familiarity with Micros OPERA, Micros Fidelio and Scala software systems
* knowledge of multiple languages (an asset)
* a demonstrated intuitive understanding of the unique Thompson culture
* a degree/diploma in Hospitality Management from a Hotel Management school.
Among the many duties of the Director of Food & Beverage, he or she will be responsible for:
* concurrently managing multiple bars and hotels, including a fine dining restaurant, a 24-hour upscale diner and a bar.
* actively contributing to the successful achievement of the organizational goals and link corporate policy and strategy with the Food & Beverage department.
* ensuring effective implementation and administration of company wide policies, procedures and practices in accordance with stated company objectives.
* ensuring that all operations perform and maximize their potential and are individually profitable and sustainable whilst enhancing the image of the luxury hotel
* deciding on the direction of the Food and Beverage operation, monitoring and controlling Food and Beverage profit and loss, ensuring financial strategy and providing solutions to improve problem areas, assisting in implementing correct measures if and when necessary.
