Pedalheads Bike camp is coming to Toronto!
Pedalheads (www.pedalheads.ca) is an 8 level instructional program to teach kids to ride their bikes safely and skillfully on streets and trails. We are a well established company operating out of Vancouver. Over the years we have taught thousands of children to ride their bikes!
We are looking for a Manager to head up our Toronto operations.
The right candidate will be self motivated and organized with initiative to work independently. They will be enthusiastic about bringing the Pedalheads organization to Toronto. They will have extensive experience with kids and be excited about the prospect of promoting kids health, safety and development.
COMMITMENT: Full time: Jan. 4th - September 3rd (32 - 40 hours per week)
*Long term, continued year round employment to be discussed after the first season
JOB DESCRIPTION:
1. Promotion of Pedalheads program:
Brochure distribution
School Presentations
Attendance at community events
Develop advertising campaigns and establish media contacts
2. Staffing:
Advertise for staff at universities, high schools and colleges
Receive resumes, conduct interviews and hire staff
3. Site set-up:
Organize equipment and material construction
Make sure all equipment and materials are delivered to each site
4. Training:
Attend training sessions in Vancouver
Facilitate Toronto site trainings
5. Supervision of Pedalheads camps during summer:
Manage all programs and activities at in Toronto
Supervise all bike supervisors, instructors and volunteers
Ensure that the bike camps procedures and safety standards are upheld.
Ensure that every participant and staff member has a positive and rewarding experience at Pedalheads.
QUALIFICATIONS:
We prefer candidates who have a teaching, physical education, or recreation degree.
You must have extensive organizing and teaching experience with children of all ages.
You must have supervisory experience especially with youth ages 13-24.
You must be a mature and dynamic leader.
You must be organized, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic.
You must have a valid drivers license.
RATE OF PAY:
$17.00 - $22.00 per hour depending upon experience and education.
