This oversized volume clearly and effectively presents human anatomy. Readers lift flaps on different parts of the body to see what organs or muscles lie underneath. While this may seem to be a bit of a gimmick, it's actually an effective way to demonstrate the interdependency and efficiency of the different systems. The text is informative and so concise as to be more in the neighborhood of captions. The colorful illustrations are detailed and clear, and the flaps are not at all distracting. A good introduction to the subject.
