As artists we are constantly expected to donate our work for one or the other charitable cause. With promises of "FREE" publicity, "PRIME EXPOSURE" etc., we meekly bring our wares to the venue and await the miracle promotional return on our investment.
I would like to bring an alternative arrangement to the table where we as artists form a co-op whereby we, so to speak, establish a new paradigm in our relationship with charitable organizations.
1. We form an alliance of capable and proven artists.
2. A small artist/membership fee is charged to offset expenses.
3. We establish a working board capable of setting goals and targets.
4. We invite charities to work with us.
5. A portion of the income generated at functions or shows goes to our artists and a smaller portion to our co-op expenses.
6. We generate our own events etc..
