Level 2+ Helpdesk Support Technician (Burlington)
This Burlington, ON based IT firm seeks a full-time talented, motivated individual to facilitate IT service delivery to various clients in a top-down manner. The successful candidate will have demonstrated “level 2” or better experience in all areas of Windows client/server environments and have a minimum of 2 years in a level 2+ helpdesk environment. Creating and handling client support requests remotely (using our support platform and ticketing system) from start to finish through the use of your excellent problem solving approach, technical experience and top-notch client interaction skills with a focus on network administration support requests.
Job Highlights:
- supporting client infrastructure including servers, workstations and networks remotely using our support platform
- managing your email and phone service requests by entering, completing and following up using our powerful ticketing system
- properly prioritizing service requests and setting reasonable expectations for clients
- identifying potential issues during servicing and properly conveying any concerns to the client or management
- occasionally going onsite as scheduling may require
- identifying infrastructure weaknesses and reporting opportunities to sales team
- supporting hosted websites, email and ISP accounts
Mandatory Requirements:
- 2 or more years providing level 2 or higher IT helpdesk support
- a good understanding of TCP/IP networks LAN, WAN, Firewall, VPN
- system administration skills in Windows Server 2003/2008, Exchange 2003/2007
- solid, demonstrated experience with the following products:
--- Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008 Standard, SBS
--- Active Directory, DNS and DHCP Services
--- Microsoft Exchange 2003/2007 Server
--- Blackberry Enterprise Server is a plus
- experience with a broad variety of networking equipment including routers, managed switches and wireless
- drivers license and late model car in good working order

- self-motivation with the ability to take initiative in identifying and resolving problems independently and knowing when to escalate issues
- the initiative to monitor one’s own work for quality and be able to assess impact of decisions
