This is a hand made sculpture of a traditional Caribbean fruit stand. It captures the essence of the Caribbean and it's colorful fruit in a natural simple way. A 'Fruit Stan' can be found in most villages. You stop over to purchase fresh fruit grown from the owner's garden, usually from his/her house.
As can be seen in this sculpture, the real live fruit stand is made of wood with a galvanized roof. Looking from the front you can see a hand of bananas hanging, oranges, pineapple and other fruit. Inside the 'stan', you will notice a wooden fruit crate which the fruit vendor will usually sit on when tired. Also under the roof on the left side you will see a table used to place boxes or other articles for the day. On the left side of the fruit stand, there is a water drum. This is large steel drum which usually fills with rain water. You notice the stone/rock on top of a piece of wood covering the barrel. The detail in the wood itself is incredible.
A perfect piece to begin your collection of Caribbean Art sculptures which includes traditional Caribbean houses and other beautiful interesting pieces. These sculptures are hand made in Trinidad and Tobago.

Who Is Trisha Romance?

Trisha Romance is an American-born world-famous painter and illustrator of popular realistic and idyllic settings and subjects. She is also an author. She has lived and worked out of Niagara-on-the-Lake in Ontario, Canada since 1969 and is considered one of Canada's best watercolor artists. Much of her art depicts domestic settings, family and holiday scenes -- many of which are inspired by her hometown and her travels throughout Canada.

What is the demand for Trisha Romance works?

Extremely high. Trisha Romance originals retail for many tens of thousands of dollars.

Do Limited Edition prints increase in value over time?
------------------------------------------

Definitely! Trisha Romance prints in particular are a hot item in high demand. Some specific prints become HIGHLY collectible and sought after over time. But ALL her prints do increase in value over time for the reasons listed. Further, once the print is run, the original plate is destroyed. So there are no more prints that will ever be produced for a particular painting. What are Artist's Proof prints?

At one time the Artist's Proofs were given to the artist usually as payment for the signing of the edition. Artist's Proof editions are always proportionally smaller in number compared to Limited Edition versions. The Artist's Proofs are signed by the artist and numbered showing the quantity of Artists Proofs available. Because of their restricted number Artist's Proofs are sold at a higher price.

Artist's Proofs offer significant advantages in addition to the advantages of a Limited Edition print. Once a Limited Edition print is sold out, the secondary market usually provides a valuation boost. Artist's Proofs go up in value at a higher rate to their extreme scarcity. Normally, Artist's Proofs are sold out long before the Limited Editions are sold out and gain value at a quicker rate than regular Limited Edition prints.
