An example is this: An entry level guitar from Fender (MIM / MIJ) or Gibson (Epiphones) etc. has mostly all cheap electronics and fairly decent body/neck. Swapping out some or all of these may yield you a pro sound found in the Made in USA stuff.

North GTA Metal band is looking to replace their current lead guitarist. We are looking for someone who is TIGHT with their timing and can keep up with the tracks. We need someone who can play guitar killer and have pro tour worthy gear. We are looking for a full fledged member, so someone who can hold their own, and contribute with whatever we are needing to do (writting, promoting, touring, paying ect). We all have road worthy gear, and were looking for someone that has as well. The songs have some sweep picking in them, but if we find the right guitarist, it is not mandatory to do so. The Stormalongs seek Strings, Brass, and Piano/Organ for next album (Toronto)

The Stormalongs are preparing to record their second album at Toronto's Gas Station with Dale Morningstar.

For our next album, we need some Strings (violins,cello), Horns (trumpet, sax, trombone), and a Piano/Organ (rhodes, hammond, baby grand) player on a few tracks.

We have ideas about what these parts will be, but we encourage improvisation and will give you creative input over what you end up adding to the song.

Hello singers!

We are Morning Fix, an indie-alternative band in downtown Toronto, and we need a YOU to fill out our roster! Our brief history:

We have been playing the Toronto circuit (Lee's Palace, Hoseshoe, The 2nd, etc.) and we recently lost our singer. She left us to pursue her own music career and that's fine because we are looking for a singer who wants to be part of a team, not just an individual looking out for themselves.

With that said, we are not just looking for a female vocalist (although we aren't against it). So male or female, shoot us an email with some samples, we have included the myspace below. Our songs are complete, but would have to be rewritten to make the songs ours, and not just singing the lyrics of someone who is no longer in the band. Our songs range from soft rock to hard rock, so please be able to sing both styles. Only serious inquiries, we are looking for someone who takes music seriously, but knows how to have fun and have a good time doing it.

Oh yeah, if you can play rhythm guitar, that would be an asset, however by no means is it a requirement! Cheers!

331 JAM is a new cover group consisting of drums, 2 guitars & female vocalist. We come in all ages- 20's to 40's! We like dancy/bluesy/classic rock & all kinda stuff & some spanish flavour too!! We did our first little gig & played: One, Every breath you take, Creep, Rock & Roll, I've just seen a face, Give me one reason, Misty Mountain hop, Twist & shout, Labamba, I saw her standing there, Midnight hour, Let it Bed, Love me 2 times, Wild Horses & Rockin in the free world-it went well & the floor was full of dancers! We have plans to add to the set list, start gigging in January & start writing our own stuff.
We've only been together a short time, but are committed to doing our homework, having fun & getting out to play live-hopefully a couple of times a month BECAUSE IT'S FUN......... we know there's not a whole lot of money for a cover band.
We all chip in to pay for a weekly rental of a rehearsal place- currently we're doing Saturday evenings.

We're looking for someone that is flexible in their music choices - heck, we can't do what I can't sing (all you Rush fans!) that is willing to commit, practise, and complete the sound.

I have a Kroland , a Kasiorg a Yamahohoho and a Smoogh . Yo . Can't read music but my influences are Swiss country (the west end) , Bhutan rock (east end) , Bostwana polka (from the south) , Belarus bluegrass (famous in north west) , Vatican metal (in the middle) , Antartica ambient (under the ice) and Texas rap (all over) . Yo . I don't drive (just a bicycle) . So you'll have to pick me up . Yo . Make sure you got a Hummer to carry all this equipment . So I'm looking for some other musicians (hey , I can play a C and a G so I'm a musician) who can make some noises . Absolutely NO experience required . We're a GTA based 4 piece classic/modern rock cover band, gigging anywhere from 1-3 times a month. Our departing bass player also handles some lead vocals, we all sing and really require that other voice as well. Our diverse repitoire includes tunes by Petty, Stray Cats, Hip, GnR you get the idea. We really need someone with live experience, gear and wheels. Rehearsal schedule really depends on how much live work we're getting. A Call for Support! Toronto Musician Needs Help

Sorry, this is the first time I've had to ask for help.

I've always been able to look out for myself, and always assumed if you're a good guy, you're okay.

I've made my income playing only for tips at the Crowne Plaza for about a year now, and it helped me greatly some days, got bookings, and made new friends.

This year has been rough for me, marriage didn't work out, lost my dad, friend, and job

I remember a GM (now a good friend, but a stranger at the time), taking me to the piano, putting his arm on my shoulder and saying; "I know you're going through a lot now, so this is your piano. You can come anytime, afternoon, 2 in the morning, whenever...clear your head, try to cope with everything going on..."

All I do is come in and play, then go home.

As musicians, we don't always feel appreciated, so it's nice to come in and have staff and customers appreciate you and what you do, and most importantly, who you are.

All of a sudden this GM, Chris Lee just starts pushing me around. Now don't get me wrong, I'm smart, I can look after myself, but this guy just tees off on me, because I was struggling hard, didn't always feel great, and he was the GM. He never hesitated to come by and say negative crap about me, my playing, and 'status' at the hotel.

Fortunately, I always tape my stuff to study it back and improve...I also caught several of his tirades, including this one:

I am a guitar player not looking for another paying band (I am currently playing in a band) and seeking other accomplished, female musicians to get together, rock out on some tunes maybe twice a month around everyone else's gig schedules etc.

Lead Guitar and Bassist needed!

We are a drummer and vocalist/theremin player searching for a a lead guitar player and bassist to start a new project. We are hoping to do some passionate progressive stuff with a hard edge. We are influenced by a wide variety of genres of music from funk to metal to drum and bass. Some examples of what we would want to come close to, but not copy, Pendulum, Tool, A Perfect Circle, Rishloo, Porcupine Tree, Incubus, Indukti, Riverside, ISIS, Mastodon, Russian Circles, and The Isosceles Project. We have a jam space with guitar amps and a piano, plus there is no rent. We are looking for someone between 19-29, we're both in our early 20's. We do have plans for the future, we have contacts that are willing help us with recordings for low or no cost and set up visuals for shows (fog, lasers, and lights) and we do keep in contact with bands from around Ontario so hopefully tours maybe down the line. We really just want to get writing and create some original music. Hope to hear from you!

Hello.. just looking for some people who want to play. I'm a few years out of a jazz performance degree and just now getting serious about maybe trying to do this as a career.. get called for gigs here and there & play in a few pop bands (it's a start!) but I have nobody to play jazz with on a regular/casual basis.

Ideally I'd love to put together a quartet/quintet for regular rehearsals, everyone brings in tunes, do a quick recording & get some gigs (ones that pay, even).. but I'd be just as happy at the moment with just finding someone to do duo/trio stuff with.. Or, if you have an established group and would like to add a saxophonist? whatever, if you play jazz - whatever instrument - and would be into the idea of getting together on a regular basis to play, get in touch with me :) age/sex/etc irrelevant, though for the record I'm a female in my late 20s.

What do I sound like? My most long standing influences are probably Cannonball, Sonny Rollins and Hank Mobley.. sort of a hard bop/soul jazz type sound, though right now the gigs I get called for are more of the honkin' Louis Prima swing type thing, and I'm listening mostly to newer stuff (Dave Holland, Chris Potter, Kenny Wheeler). I also started out playing r&b/soul, so there's that aspect to my playing. I like it all, and I try to be versatile.
I have a pretty crappy myspace link I'll send you if you're interested. Haven't done much recording at all.

Anyway, let's do some playing!

Hi there, I'm a bassist looking for musicians to start a hard rock band. Influences include: Alice in Chains, Chevelle, Deftones, Godsmack, Tool, A Perfect Circle, Drain STH & the 90's in general.

ME: I'm female, mid-twenties. I play bass, sing backup, and write. I have pro gear (Musicman / Ampeg), & I'm dedicated and reliable (willing to practice as often as needed and show up on time).

YOU: Are male or female (but a male singer is preferred due to style of music), roughly mid-twenties to mid-thirties. You play drums, guitar or sing (backup vocals are an asset), can contribute to songwriting & have gig-worthy gear. You're serious about music and able to make practices in the evenings/weekends.

I'm Tenzing, This is my first time posting up something on craigslist (yea, whatever) .So I have a bassist who can play anything, a keyboard player who sings along & myself, I play guitar (rhythm/lead). I'm looking for a drummer who would like to jam and tweak around a little to get some comforting sounds. Our influences divert from different range. We love rock, indie, jazz, blues and even metal.
