At Rack Attack:
You will use your strong people skills to help people choose the best products to help them carry their outdoor gear (bikes, canoes, kayaks and related cargo).

Employment is full time (35-40 hours per week) in the summer season from mid-April though August and does require working some weekends. A valid drivers licence is a plus.

Job Description

Oversee the development of retail inventory flow strategies and create store-specific distribution plans to maximize store and item productivity.

Manage inventory flow and strategically distribute product by channel, region, store group, district, and store.
Collaborate with the buying team to tailor store assortments based on size, climate, seasonality, capacity and target consumer to maximize productivity.
Develop scalable best practices to ensure door level product availability and maximize GMROII [gross margin return on inventory investment].
Develop strong partnerships with the store teams and act as the advocate for stores in buying and planning discussions.
Modify inventory levels based on store trend and seasonal builds to ensure stores have the inventory necessary to maximize revenue while minimizing underproductive inventory.
Proactively plan, react, communicate and take appropriate action to meet and exceed budget.
Provide quantitative analysis to support and inform the planning and buying team.
Develop and maintain store capacity models to ensure accurate inventory levels.
Use knowledge of individual store performance and trend to inform the planning and forecasting process.
Analyze business trends and react as necessary to ensure financial obligations are met or exceeded.
React to in season trends by door to ensure that models are being adjusted appropriately based on each stores performance.
Performs duties consistent with the company's goals and policies.
Performs other duties as required/assigned by manager.
Desired Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising/Planning or equivalent work experience.
3-5 years experience allocating overstock, "refurbished products" and/or electronics in a retail environment.
Analytic, organized, adaptable, results-oriented and accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent computer skills. Advanced Excel skills including a thorough understanding of macros, pivot tables and lookup.
Knowledge of Power Point and Word.

Training
� Provides on Sales Floor coaching and mentoring daily to sales staff
� Leads and ensures completion of 3 month Orientation for all department staff
� Provides continuous coaching and training to achieve "A Level" status in all department staff
� Responsible to disseminate all communication to team as required including merchandising and policy and procedure changes
� Facilitate and lead product knowledge and department team meetings

Operations
� Initiates and enforces execution of pricing/ signing , restocking and receiving, and Sale Prep
� Executes on assigned department presentation as per seasonal Merchandising Planner
� Follows and enforces all corporate LP and OH&S policies and procedures and all cash and audit procedures as per Corporate Policy and Procedure Manual
� Hard Goods Department Managers - Maintains and executes on tech shop service and maintenance standards
� Hard Good or Soft Good Department Managers must be product experts but also is responsible to provide leadership by coaching and developing product knowledge in sales and support staff
� Monitors store weekly scheduling requirements and reacts when needed on a shift by shift basis
� Initiates and presents plans for department improvements and strategies
� Assumes responsibility for all operations of the store in the absence of the manager and or Assistant Manager
� Participates in preparation and execution of annual inventory
� Continually identifies needs and opportunities in staffing requirements
� Assists and participates in Hiring Process
� Completes all performance reviews in a timely and effective manner

Qualifications
� Minimum of 2 years in a retail environment, preferably at a supervisory level
� A proven track record of business growth and exceptional customer service skills and standards
� Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
� Strong organizational skills
� Strong computer skills
� Evening and weekend availability is a requirement of this role
� Interest in or involvement in sports or the sporting good industry an asset
� Post Secondary education an asset
