Job Description<br>

•Performs the administrative work related to the day-to-day internal operations of an OPS senior manager's or executive's office<br>
•Prepares and composes correspondence, memos, reports and presentations<br>
•Maintains inventory of office supplies, orders supplies as required, maintains filing systems and prepares mail and courier materials, makes travel arrangements, schedules meetings and arranging conferences calls<br>
•Handles highly sensitive and confidential information<br>
•Co-ordinates branch management schedules<br>
•Co-ordinates unit activities with other units and or administrative functions, e.g., human resources, finance, I.T.<br>
•Drafts standard correspondence, e.g., briefing notes, memos, letters<br>
•Conducts background research on issues; prepares reports<br>
<br>
Qualifications:<br>
<br>
•Minimum 2 years experience in similar role, Government preferred but not mandatory <br>
•Knowledge of general office procedures<br>
•Ability to work under general supervision<br>
•Multi tasks, manages conflicting priorities<br>
•Advanced Microsoft Office skills; experience in using computerized data bases (e.g., HR, financial, correspondence tracking, etc.)<br>
•Judgement and discretion to handle confidential and sensitive issues<br>
•Oral and written communication skills for composing standard correspondence<br>
•Interpersonal skills to liaise with various Client's, stakeholders (internal and external) and team members<br>

SUMMARY OF FUNCTION: <br>
Assist biologists in data collection for the inventory and monitoring of terrestrial natural heritage systems in the TRCA jurisdiction. Health and Safety is a requirement of this position.<br>

KNOWLEDGE: <br>
• Post-secondary education in biology, ecology or a related field or equivalent experience;<br>
• Strong interest in the ecology and fauna/flora of the Greater Toronto Area and Southern Ontario;<br>
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions and early mornings;<br>
• Strong organizational skills;<br>
• Valid Ontario driver's license and own vehicle would be an asset.<br>
<br>
SUMMARY OF MAJOR TASKS<br>
Perform the following tasks under general supervision.<br>
<br>
1. Assist with field inventories and monitoring of breeding bird species according to the TRCA's Terrestrial Natural Heritage protocol; Ontario Forest Bird Monitoring Protocol and Marsh Monitoring Protocol<br>
2. Assist with field observations and data recording<br>
3. Ensure safety in the field (First Aid training provided).<br>
4. Develop field skills as a form of apprenticeship.<br>

• Post secondary education in resource management, environmental studies, land planning or environmental planning;<br>

• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and implement natural landscape projects;<br>
• An interest in public recreation and trail use as well as resources management;<br>
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;<br>

1. Assist with the coordination and implementation of land management and trail projects.<br>

4. Operate and maintain small construction equipment, chainsaws, trucks and other motorized equipment to carry out various construction and maintenance projects.<br>
5. Assist with costing and purchasing of equipment and materials as required.<br>
6. Liaise with community stewardship groups, partner organizations and general volunteers as required.<br>
7. Work cooperatively in a team environment.<br>
8. Work outdoors in all weather conditions.<br>
9. Ensure all duties are performed in accordance with health and safety policies and guidelines.<br>
10. Other duties as assigned.<br>

DIVISION: Planning and Development<br>
<br>
SUMMARY OF FUNCTION: <br>
To provide support and assistance to the reporting of appropriate corporate interests related to applications under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act as well as applications made pursuant to the TRCA Fill, Construction and Alteration to Waterways Regulation and related program activities; provide effective project management and service delivery.  Provide and maintain excellent customer service.<br>
<br>
KNOWLEDGE: <br>
• Post secondary education in land use or environmental planning or a related field;<br>
• Knowledge of the Planning Act and the Conservation Authority Act and Environmental Assessment Act regulations preferred;<br>
• 2 years municipal and/or environmental planning experience and applied computer knowledge;<br>
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and drawings;<br>
• Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication skills and customer service;<br>
• Ability to make presentations in both public and technical forums;<br>
• Possession of a valid Ontario driver's license.<br>
<br>
SUMMARY OF MAJOR TASKS<br>
Perform the following tasks under general supervision:<br>
1. Assist the team to review and respond to Environmental Assessment Act applications with respect to the Authority's programs, policies and regulation requirements.<br>
2. Under the direction and review documents, development applications and comprehensive environmental reports and identify where Authority policy and program interests are affected and report appropriate action to the Planner II or Senior Planner, Environmental Assessment.<br>
3. Project Manage planning documents, development applications and comprehensive environmental reports and identify where Authority policy and program interests are affected and report appropriate action to the Planner II or Senior Planner, Environmental Assessment.<br>
4. Prepare reports for the Executive Committee which ensure effective communication of corporate interests for applications made pursuant to Ontario Regulations. Attend Executive Committee meetings.<br>
5. Provide support to the Manager and Environmental Assessment Planning team to coordinate planning and regulation program activities.<br>
6. Assist in maintaining effective client relations. Ability to liaise with member municipalities, with Enforcement staff with regard to appropriate implementation of permits.<br>
7. Maintain service delivery records in accordance with Section operation procedures.<br>
8. Participate in program development initiatives and projects.<br>
9. Perform other duties as assigned.<br>

SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:  This position will focus on energy audits, energy management planning and retrofit implementation assistance for private sector stakeholders engaged in Toronto Region Conservation Authority's (TRCA) Partners in Project Green initiative.<br>
<br>
As the Partners in Project Green Energy Management Technologist, you will support the delivery of Partners in Project Green's Eco-Efficiency Program by visiting external clients to educate them on their energy use and complete energy audits that identify both technical and operational opportunities to reduce their consumption.<br>
<br>
You will assist clients in implementing energy conservation opportunities by educating them on the opportunities, developing business plans, completing incentive applications, and connecting them to product and service resources that encourage conservation.<br>

KNOWLEDGE: <br>
• College diploma, university degree or equivalent in mechanical or electrical engineering, building sciences, sustainable energy or related discipline;<br>
• 1 to 3 years experience analyzing energy consumption of building systems and industrial processes; <br>
• Experience using energy metering instruments such as flow meters, light meters, power loggers, and temperature loggers;<br>
• Knowledge of project financial analysis, including simple payback, IRR and NPV; <br>
• Track record of successful implementation of projects, especially equipment retrofits;<br>
• Management skills needed to keep on schedule, communicate effectively, and maintain commitments to outcomes; <br>
• Excellent oral and written communications skills;<br>
• Excellent customer service, stakeholder or client relationship management skills; <br>
• Strong problem solving skills, collaborative and facilitation skills;<br>
• Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and water conservation is considered an asset;<br>
• Strong MS Excel and Word skills required; and,<br>
• Knowledge of energy modeling software is considered an asset.<br>

SUMMARY OF MAJOR TASKS: Perform the following tasks under general supervision:<br>

1. Complete energy audits of industrial and commercial facilities.  Meet with clients, identify conservation opportunities, analyze historical energy consumption data, complete business case analysis, and prepare client reports.<br>
2. Provide exceptional customer service to clients, directing them to and assisting them with resources to drive the implementation of energy conservation opportunities. <br>
3. Complete financial incentive applications for energy conservation projects.<br>
4. Assist in the delivery of energy management training sessions for industrial and commercial clients.<br>
5. Provide support to TRCA in the implementation of its corporate energy management program.<br>

Tracks HSP milestones and training <br>
Updates milestones database and maintains implementation documents <br>
Provide subject matter expertise to the Support Centre as required <br>
Act as back-up contact person for HSPs during times of absence of education specialists (vacations/training), when appropriate <br>

Assist with the orientation of secondees and other new staff e.g. checking coding assignments <br>
Follow the regional implementation model and adhere to regional and core processes <br>
Maintaining and updating implementation status and information in appropriate systems <br>

Reporting to the Land and Resources Manager, the incumbent is responsible for assisting in the development and delivery of TH programs, Acts, policies, and procedures as they pertain to lands and resources management. The incumbent is responsible for managing TH's geographical information system and for producing mapping products for the Land and Resources Branch and other TH departments. <br>

Essentials<br>

Provide technical expertise and project management support to the Sustainable Technologies<br>
Evaluation Program (STEP).  Provide technical support and expertise in the collection, analysis<br>
and reporting of monitoring data.Provide excellent client and customer service.<br>
Occupational Health and Safety is a major responsibility of this position.<br>
<br>
KNOWLEDGE: <br>
•Minimum 3 year college diploma in environmental science, water resource engineering, physical geography, or equivalent.<br>
• Minimum 3 years experience related to major tasks.<br>
• Working knowledge of watershed ecosystems, stormwater management practices, stream water quality, QA/QC procedures, and technology monitoring and evaluation concepts.<br>
• Experience in field monitoring, data analysis and technical report writing; experience in web site design and development an asset. <br>
• Proficient with computer word processing and spreadsheet software.<br>
• Strong analytical, communication and organizational skills.<br>
• Health and Safety is a major part of this role.<br>
• Valid Driver's License.<br>
<br>
SUMMARY OF MAJOR TASKS:<br>
Perform the following tasks under general supervision:<br>
1) Provide technical expertise and project management support to the Sustainable Technologies Evaluation Program (STEP).<br>
2) Co-ordinate the development and ongoing maintenance of the STEP website and associated databases.<br>
3) Collect, analyze, synthesize, and report on monitoring results for STEP projects.  Present results at workshops and events.<br>
4) Work with the Marketing group to develop communications materials for the STEP website and distribution at conferences and workshops.  These materials may include brief project summaries, fact sheets, brochures, and/or poster presentations.   <br>
5) Manage sub-contracts with universities, consultants or other agency partners for specific monitoring projects.<br>
6) Prepare funding proposals, progress and monitoring reports.<br>
7) Prepare project budgets and track revenues and expenditures.<br>
8) Respond to inquiries related to monitoring projects and develop and maintain effective relationships with project partners, other external agencies and the public.   <br>
9) Prepare communications and reports to senior staff, STEP committee members and Authority Boards as required<br>
10) Co-ordinate the development and maintenance of a database containing detailed monitoring data for individual projects. <br>
11) Assist in organizing workshops and seminars on specific theme areas related to STEP objectives. <br>
12) Other related duties as assigned<br>
