Manages, monitors and controls operational projects and service delivery requirements defining project scope, deliverables, staff resource requirements and detailed project plans, develops risk management strategies and ensures adherence to quality standards, monitors project schedule, budget and deliverables to ensure business needs are met on time and within budget.
Maintains knowledge of current trends and potential developments in IT systems, specifically in technology infrastructure operations and enabling technologies.
Provides clients, stakeholders and team members with guidance on technology infrastructure processes/procedures and identify opportunities where technology can enhance the business.
Participates in the development of long-term business strategies and operational priorities, models core leadership competencies within and external to IT and participates in corporate-wide initiatives that extend beyond the IT function.
Promotes a team-based and customer-oriented approach to service delivery.
Manages the Performance Management and annual compensation review processes to ensure individual objectives are aligned to the company. Implements the annual review process, including the annual Merit and Incentive Program for non-bargaining staff.
Assigns work, directly or through a team of supervisors/ leads; monitors outcomes for accuracy, timeliness and quality.
Implements learning and development plans; transfers skills and knowledge to enhance performance of the team and provide opportunity for growth and development.
Identifies staffing requirements and anticipates required skills, knowledge, expertise as well as complement and location where applicable; manages the interview process and determines successful candidate(s).
In consultation with Human Resources, responds to employee complaints and grievances, takes disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal, where necessary.
Provides input to annual operational goals; identifies unit operating budget requirements; monitors and forecasts monthly allocations; identifies and develops plans to mitigate variances.
Monitors third-party contracts/service level agreements for variance to budget allocations. Approves invoices and expenditures in accordance with the Procurement Policy.
Manages the acquisition process by preparing requests for proposals and procurement, negotiates contracts for services with vendors and other service providers.
Manages technology infrastructure-related maintenance, vendor contracts and license agreements and identifies opportunities to maximize vendor products and services including opportunities beyond the scope of the assigned infrastructure area and/or business need.

Qualifications

Completion of post-secondary education (university degree or college diploma) in an IT related field.
Certification in or working towards certification in an ITIL disciple would be an asset.
A minimum of 4 years progressively responsible experience in an IT Technology service delivery environment in a leadership capacity.
Expertise and experience in one or more of the following areas: network operating architectures, servers, Storage area networks, backup and retrieval systems, voice and data communications protocols and technologies, network interface components, cloud computing and software monitoring tools.
Proven collaboration technologies experience (voice and video conferencing). Implementations of VOIP.
Strong background in securing the network parameters, experience with intrusion protection, checkpoints for firewalls, internet perspective.
Experience with Internet circuit connections, UPS, cabling, routers across multiple sites. Planning and executing upgrade projects as required.
Sound understanding of systems project management, design methodology, system development life cycle and quality control processes, with demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into IT solutions. Prior experience including network and telecommunications projects would be an asset).
Demonstrated leadership skills to manage and coordinate a multidisciplinary team of professionals in technology infrastructure.
Ability to understand business requirements and translate into manageable, cost-effective technology infrastructure solutions.
Well-defined analytical skills and strong process orientation skills with ability to solve complex problems.
Strong relationship management, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with business units, staff and external partners (e.g. vendors, service providers).

Requirements:
Two to five years technical support experience
Fluent written and verbal English
Analytic Thinker and self motivated
A+ Certified
Own a Vehicle, willing to travel and own a valid licence

Diagnose and locate computer equipment faults
