SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Wine Merchant you will be responsible for providing outstanding customer service following the programs provided by the company. Your other primary responsibilities include:
Merchandising the store as per company direction
Receiving deliveries and stocking the store as required
Opening and closing the store
Completion of administrative duties including banking, daily and monthly paperwork
Operation of the POS cash register system
General housekeeping duties
Interacting and supporting the rest of the team including attending regular store team meetings
Conduct in-store customer sampling
Adherence to all Wine Rack policies and procedures
and any other task assigned by the store manager
REQUIREMENTS OF AN IDEAL CANDIDATE:
The completion of our three month training course and ongoing wine and food education
An understanding of and adherence to legal obligations around the selling of alcohol beverages
Available to work flexible hours throughout the week and at key selling times
An enjoyment and interest in wine
Excellent oral communication skills
Self-motivated and able to work as a team and without supervision
Sales ability/Persuasiveness
Outgoing, sociable personality
Retail experience a plus though not required
