58cm Quality Classic Road frame and fork (In the city) $100

This is a '70s or early '80s high quality steel road frame and fork. It is light weight steel (either Columbus or Reynolds.) Most likely Reynolds 531 according to the design, era and the insight gathered from a few bike shop experts around town who have seen it. The decals were all removed in preparation for a strip down and repaint that never happened. The fork and rear dropouts are all Campagnolo. There is beautiful chrome on the fork, stays and around the lugs. The colour is purple. Size is, as the title says, 58cm (seat post centre to centre.) There is one small ding on the top tube, which I've tried to picture. It is small, hardly noticeable and according to the pros at 2 separate good shops, does not affect the integrity or ride. There are the usual scrapes that you'd expect on a frame of this age. Some spotting rust showing on some of the chromed areas. It cleans up very nicely and will make a fantastic road or fixie bike.

This is the famed tri and well-respected road saddle by fixi:k. Model is the Arione Wing Flex and it is in fantastic condition. The only wear I can see is the screened on lettering on the rails is a bit scuffed off from forward and backward adjustment on the seatpost. The saddle itself shows no scuffs or creases and has not seen much use. It came to me on a bike I recently bought and I have no use for it. Online reviews of this saddle are fantastic and well above average. Retail price (who cares, it is a lot more than my asking price) and my asking price of $75 is OBO!

Here's a detailed description:

These are Easton's finest Monkey Lite CT2 carbon mountian bike riser handlebars.

They have an 8 degree rise, are the original length of 660mm and weigh just 175 grams! This particular version of these extra fine handlebars are a couple years old. They have never been mounted or ridden on and will be presented to you, the lucky purchaser, in the very plastic bag and original box they came from the factory in. I bought them off of a guy who got them while racing for Team Norco. They've been sitting in my stash of items, waiting to be mounted but I just never got around to it. FOR SALE: Star Velocity Deep V Rims Non-Machined sidewalls (30mm deep X 19mm Wide.) Built with black DT Swiss straight gauge spokes, black nipples, 32 hole 3x spoke pattern. Rims are drilled for presta valves. Hubs are black Origin 8s with sealed cartridge bearing. They have 120mm rear spacing bolt on axles and come with axle nuts (the type with built-on washers.) Obviously, the rear hub is a flip flop with track threading on both sides. The rims have 700c Bead seat diameter. They weigh 2240 +/- on my scale ( rear 1150g, front 1090g.) Normally I like to sell wheels with tubes and tires on but as you can see these are brand spanking new (foam bands from shipping still attached.) These were released 2 years ago (I think/was told) and are almost totally sold-out down south. The online dealer and customer reviews on these wheels are "excellent" & "outstanding." For quality and price you can't beat Velocity and Origin8.

Purchase price and shipping to get these here will cost you way over my asking... and my price is OBO! Please don't offer me much less though cuz I'd just as soon unwrap 'em and use them myself this spring. If there is another set of these in the city then I haven't seen 'em. You know you want 'em. It's an 2006 powder blue, Easton Race-lite tubing, It's got a blue Chris King HS, installed upside down to hide it's identity. The cranks are FSA SL-K 172.5mm crank with 53/39 rings, this baby flies!

It's got a 105 BB, an almost new 7800 Dura-Ace RD. 105 FD and a new 105 cassette and new Sram chain, the bar and stem are alloy and very light, suprisingly light. Seatpost is either black Thompson or a Specialized carbon with zertz inserts for $50 more, the saddle is a new WTB cx off my new Jake the Snake, white and a matching blue. The fork is the original project 2 fork, that's the really great stuff.

Now the mediocre, the 9 spd 105 brifters are a little scratched, and the wheels are nothing great, with Kenda hybrid tires.

The only bad is a small dent in the Top Tube from it falling over and hitting a bike post as I took my son out of the baby seat. It happened 4-5 years ago and has never affected the tracking or ride in any way. There are some paint chips as well, see closeup pix.

The ugly is it needs a tuneup and the brakes, Avid shorty 4's I think, are gummy, I can't be bothered to tune it so that's what it needs to be an awesome ride again.

Up for sale is a Shimano FC-R553 crankset with bottom bracket, new and never installed. It's a compact triple 50/39/30 hollowtec II crank with 170mm crank arms and the bb is standard British threaded with outboard bearings. It's a non-series component from Shimano's current generation, but performance wise it specs as a 10-speed hollowtec update of their 9-speed non-hollowtec 2008-series 105 components (hence the 553 product code, referring to that year's 105-level components that were given product codes in the 5500 range and where 5500 was a double crank and 5503 a triple). In short, that means crank stiffness and chainrings are 105-level, but the weight is comparable to current generation Tiagra--higher performance for a lower price if you don't mind that it's a few ounces heavier than a current generation 105 hollowtec crankset.

Has "Praying Mantis" Handlebars that are adjustable
Rear drum brake,
Super nice sprung saddle.
3 speed Shimano hub,
Kind of a one size fits all bike (almost)
Made in Katakura Japan,

Bike is fully funtioning and rideable, Although a good tune up would be beneficial.
Paint is in good shape, Chrome is in good shape too.
Will need new brake and gear housing cable, Maybe brake cable and gear cable too.
This bike is an interesting and fine example of Japanese pride and ingenuity.

Hi,

These came off my late 70's Mariposa.
Fiamme Red (made in Italy) according to a discussion on Bike Forum were the second best wheelset that they made.
Yellow was best.
Why were these put on a Mariposa then. Well the article continues to state that these (Red) were an all around great wheelset.
As in, the yellow were just meant for racing only and would not prove to not be tough enough to endure the city streets.
So that's the rims in a nutshell.
The hubs are Campagnolo. Sorry I dont know which Campy. Maybe Nuovo Gran Sport if that makes sense.
There is a little dent on the braking surface of the front wheel, that Im told would not really matter as they are glued on anyway.
Who knows, your welcome to come by and scrutinize for yourself.
No rust anywhere. Would look pretty cool on a vintage build. Oh yeah, they are pretty damn light too.

1976 Raleigh 10 speed bike (oshawa) $200

This red Raleigh 10-speed racer is 1976 Raleigh Grand Prix with a 21.5-inch diamond frame. The bike is stock, and has Firestone Strata Streak tires.

See attached pictures. Thirty-five years ago this was one of the most desirable ten-speed road bikes available.

It has the original Raleigh-spec'd Huret Challenger derailleurs, front and back, controlled with Huret levers. All of it made in France, made from aluminum alloy and chromed steel. The bike is light and agile, and in very good condition.

The rims are also made in France, Rigida Chromage Superieur. The front wheel has a built-in quick release to make it easy to remove from the bike.

The frame is fully lugged, brazed steel, marked as certified "Raleigh Industries 10-20 High Carbon" steel. The frame features the one-piece wrap-around seat stays made popular in the Carlton Raleigh workshop (see pictures). This bike is suited to a male or female rider from about 5'4" to 5'9"

Brake levers are Weinmann aluminum alloy with Dia Compe safety levers. Front brake calliper is aluminum alloy, Weinmann 610 Series and rear brake calliper is aluminum alloy, Weinmann 750 Series. Handlebar stem is GB aluminum alloy. Seat post is aluminum alloy. Handlebars are aluminum alloy.

Cranks are marked with the Raleigh logo. The seat is a GT MK V.
